Things don’t work because they do. Behind everything there is a system and a philosophy that brings small advances every day. This is what we focus on.
In the last 15 years I have possibly launched 400-500 online projects of a larger and smaller size. With the passage of time you go from chance to replicate the operation more systematically. If you can call it that way there is a “method” behind everything that goes hand in hand with my philosophy of doing business.

I’m looking for the little “something” that helps me move forward
The beginnings of a project with the most difficult phase. Here I focus on looking for a small thing that gives me results in a replicable way. It means that if I do I see results and if I repeat it again with those results. In most cases it is not a direct relationship between action and sale because that requires more time in general. This could be some examples:
- Publish a type of publication that generates a higher level of interaction and clicks generating visits to the website.
- Launch a Facebook Ads campaign of the same characteristics that generates clicks at low cost and some sales.
- Upload an x number every day to the store to increase direct and recurring traffic to the online store by 10-20%.
- Every 10 products uploaded to Wallapop generate a conversation. Every 3 conversations on average a sale is generated.
With these figures (invented) you can get an idea of what I’m looking for. Replicable actions to convert them into daily or weekly routines. First I focus on one and then I add more of them. Right now we will have a dozen of them in our collecting project.
Prioritize systems on objectives
With the passage of time I have realized that a goal is of little use to you if you do not have a system behind to reach it. When I prepare a marathon I take out my 10-week preparation plan where I have 6 sessions every week performing between 12 to 35 km at different rates and intensities.
This is what we are doing right now with the weekly metrics . It contains objectives but they are not as important as the actions behind. Right now we measure even on a daily level because we have realized that many times we set a weekly goal and then on a day to day basis we do not organize ourselves well enough to achieve everything proposed. We have been with this change for a short time but for now I see that we are doing better than before.
I am not looking for rapid progress
When I started with this I always looked for the next peak of traffic, sales, customers, etc. Then you realize that a peak does not give you anything if you are not able to replicate it daily. Right now I focus all my efforts on to improve 1% every day without exception .
This implies that the things that are working are still applied without exception. In our case we always take small steps back because we forget that we have already found what we were looking for and that now has to execute . In the end every day counts and failing one day generates a lot of frustration because I know that those 24 hours we have lost forever. Worst of all is that the cause behind in many cases are small negligence and various urgencies that take away the focus of the important. Being constant when there are no distractions is more or less easy but if you also fight with several incidents no longer so much. Even so, I know that we have the ability to run on a daily basis but many times we don’t trust our own capabilities as a team. That is something we have to work on. We will do it, I do not doubt it.
